Steve Stroebel is an avid Formula 18 (F18) catamaran sailor living in San Diego, California. Now enjoying retirement after a 37 year career including as a nuclear engineer in the US Navy, computer systems consulting and shipbuilder of large ocean going vessels, he is living his dream to be able to focus on racing F18s.  He spends his summers in Europe to be able to join the most competitive F18 catamaran regattas and sails in the major events held in North America.  Racing F18's since 2012 he has spent eight summers in Europe since 2013 but 2024 will be the last. After sailing the F18 Germain Championships south of Munich and chartering his boat to another American team at the World Championships in Spain he will sell his boat.

Steve is also active in F18 class administration as President of the US F18 Catamaran Class Association since 2019 and Vice President on the Executive Committee of the International F18 association since 2018.
